We all know that the big boys spend millions on branding their products. They own numerous corporations and are able to buy large blocks of time, hire "top gun" producers and buy slick productions reaching millions of viewers for less per impression than the little guy can reach a handful of buyers in a local market.
The billion dollar budgets multi-national corporations are able direct to media creates unbelievable cost efficiency and buying leverage. The additional impact of cross advertising and production deals by partnering three or four international companies further enhances their leverage.(rent an Avis and get air travel credit, or use Am ex and get your hotel room and frequent flyer points, Etc.)
Normally the branding efforts and advertising buys target the promotion of their LOGO as THE ICON for the products and services that they offer to the consumer.
I could site numerous examples but all you have to do is think of a big business and what snaps in your mind? A slick LOGO!
Well if the big boys do it, why not take heed. Why fly in the face of conventional wisdom, and neglect a tried and proven business tactic.
